FirstIgnite is supporting the commercialization of Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory’s Box Level Effusion Cell for Outgassing Measurements technology. This cell offers precise thermal control (+/- 2°C) for large masses (~10 kg) through a unique "trapdoor" design that optimizes vacuum conductance during the bakeout phase for the hardware and isolates hardware during outgassing measurements.

This technology is versatile, enabling outgassing environment quantification for space mission hardware and aiding launch providers in meeting outgassing requirements for shared payloads. The global space launch services market was worth $16.9 billion in 2022 and is expected to reach $29.6 billion by 2027.

Johns Hopkins University’s Box Level Effusion Cell for Outgassing Measurements technology is ready for collaboration (licensing, partnerships, industry feedback, etc.). Is your company the right fit? If you’d be available for a conversation with the Johns Hopkins University team, you can schedule a time directly on their team’s calendar here.
